Construction Ministry seeks transport provider for Chita-Krasno-Kamensk air route
Krasnokamensk Airport, located in the Zabaikalsky Krai region, is gearing up for potential improvements in passenger services. The regional Ministry of Construction has initiated a search for a contractor to operate passenger flights on the route from Chita to Krasnokamensk.
The contract, worth 9.5 million rubles, is available on State Procurements. The successful bidder will be chosen through electronic auctions. The contractor's services will commence upon the signing of the agreement, which will last from the signing date to August 29, 2025.
The Krasnokamensk Airport, built in 1970, has undergone several changes over the years. Initially designed to serve the PPOXO, the runway was prepared in the late 1980s to accommodate heavy passenger aircraft, such as the Tu-154. A partial reconstruction of the runway took place in 2018.
Recently, the airport saw the opening of a new station facility, indicating ongoing investment and development at the airport. However, no confirmed current or regular passenger flights from Chita or a Moscow-Krasnokamensk route are available. The new station could imply readiness or an effort to enhance passenger services.
Historically, there were plans for a Moscow-Krasnokamensk flight, but no direct evidence or confirmation of such a route existing currently or in the past is found in the sources. The contractor, expected to use aircraft of the type AN-2 or their equivalents for local line transportation, will be responsible for technical and operational aircraft maintenance, airport and ground handling, liability insurance, and ticket sales based on customer requests.
Flight times may be affected by adverse weather conditions or other circumstances beyond the carrier's control. Return and unused time expenses will be included in the contract cost. The contractor will also be responsible for organizing transportation.
For a complete picture, further specialized or local aviation sources would be needed to confirm regular flight schedules or historical route implementations. The contractor's services will be conducted on the specified route, and all flights will be operated based on the Ministry's requests.
The contractor, chosen through electronic auctions, will provide services in the aviation industry, operating passenger flights on the route from Chita to Krasnokamensk, a move indicating efforts to enhance passenger services at Krasnokamensk Airport. Concurrently, the contractor will be responsible for organizing financing for the transportation sector, including aircraft maintenance, airport and ground handling, ticket sales, liability insurance, and passenger transportation, underlining the interconnected nature of the finance and transportation industries in the region.
