Convicted Georgian robber arrested at Frankfurt Airport after evading juvenile detention
Federal police at Frankfurt Airport arrested a 22-year-old Georgian man last Sunday. The detainee, a convicted robber, was wanted to serve a two-year juvenile detention sentence handed down in 2024 by the Tiergarten District Court in Germany. Authorities had issued an arrest warrant after he failed to comply with an entry and residence ban in Germany.
The man arrived on a flight from Athens, Greece, where officers immediately took him into custody. He was already subject to an active arrest warrant, linked to both his outstanding sentence and a suspected robbery case investigated by the Neuruppin Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Following his apprehension, he was remanded to a correctional facility. Prosecutors have now added charges for illegal entry, as his presence in Germany violated the existing ban.
The detainee remains in custody while facing multiple legal proceedings. His arrest ensures he will serve the remaining juvenile detention term imposed last year. Authorities continue to investigate the additional robbery allegations against him.
