Correctiv hires investigative veteran Ulrich Kraetzer to lead daily news team
Correctiv, a prominent independent newsroom in Germany, welcomes Ulrich Kraetzer as its new 'Editor for Daily News' starting October 1, 2025. Anette Dowideit, Correctiv's editor-in-chief, praised Kraetzer's exceptional research skills and clear vision.
Kraetzer brings a wealth of experience from various outlets, including RBB, Berliner Morgenpost, and ARD magazine Kontraste. Most recently, he served in the investigative department of Welt/Welt am Sonntag, specialising in domestic politics and extremism reporting. In his new role, Kraetzer will coordinate daily editorial processes, manage topic planning, and drive strategic projects for 'Correctiv Spotlight'.
He has been recognised multiple times for his outstanding research and aims to shape societal debates through his work at Correctiv. Kraetzer will oversee the editorial management of daily news in Berlin alongside the editorial board, replacing the current head of the editorial team of Tagesschau at Correctiv.
Ulrich Kraetzer joins Correctiv, appreciating its independence, depth, and commitment to public interest. His appointment is expected to strengthen Correctiv's daily news coverage and continue its impact on societal discussions.
