Court Orders Sochi Airport to Reinstate Veteran Employee, Pay Damages
The Krasnodar Regional Court has ordered Sochi International Airport PJSC to reinstate Svetlana Borisova, a former employee with 35 years of service. The court also ruled that the employer must pay her lost wages and compensate her for moral damages.
Borisova, who goes by the name Svetlana Anatolyevna, was dismissed from her position at the airport. She subsequently filed a lawsuit challenging her termination. Initially, a Sochi court sided with the employer, deeming the dismissal procedure lawful.
However, the transport prosecutor’s office intervened, arguing that the dismissal was unlawful due to procedural violations and a lack of consideration for Borisova's unblemished work record. The Krasnodar Regional Court upheld these arguments and overturned the lower court’s ruling.
Following the court's decision, Borisova has been reinstated to her position at Sochi International Airport PJSC. She will also receive compensation for her lost wages and moral damages suffered during her forced absence.
