Court reinstates fire truck driver after unlawful dismissal and unpaid wages
A court in Aktau has heard a labor dispute between an employee and TOO "F", as reported by our website citing the Mangystau Regional Court.
During the proceedings, it was established that on December 31, 2024, the parties signed an employment contract under which Citizen Zh. was hired as a fire truck driver, effective January 1, 2025. However, on July 1, 2025, the employer terminated the employment relationship without issuing a proper dismissal order.
The court also found that the employee had not been paid for night shifts or weekend work.
The plaintiff proved in court that the dismissal was unlawful and requested reinstatement, as well as back pay for the period of forced absence, compensation for unused annual leave, and damages for moral harm.
The court ruled that the employer had violated Kazakhstan's labor laws, including procedures for terminating employment contracts and imposing disciplinary penalties.
Under the court's decision, the dismissal was deemed unlawful, and Citizen Zh. was reinstated in his former position.
The company, TOO "F", was ordered to pay the plaintiff 690,000 tenge in lost wages, 57,500 tenge for unused vacation, and 100,000 tenge in moral damages.
The ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
Earlier reports indicated that employees of the akimat (regional administration) in East Kazakhstan Region had their leave reduced and were denied health benefits.
