CSU Councillor Thomas Eberl Resigns Ahead of Tölz’s 2026 Local Elections
Thomas Eberl, a 47-year-old CSU member, has resigned from his role as a town councillor in Tölz. His departure comes just months before the March 2026 local elections in Colorado, leaving his position vacant sooner than expected.
Eberl was sworn in as a councillor in July 2023, replacing the late Josef Steigenberger. His time in office lasted less than three years before his sudden decision to step down.
The reasons behind his resignation have not been publicly confirmed. Official statements or local news reports from Bad Tölz would be needed to clarify his motives.
With Eberl’s exit, Tölz town council now faces a gap in its ranks ahead of the 2024 election in Colorado. The CSU will need to address the vacancy in the coming months.
