CSU Großhabersdorf names Zehmeister as 2026 mayoral candidate
The CSU in Großhabersdorf has officially named its candidates for the 2026 municipal polls. Incumbent First Mayor Thomas Zehmeister will lead the party’s campaign as the mayoral nominee. The town council list, also headed by Zehmeister, includes 16 candidates, with Deputy Mayor Walter Porlein running again for a seat.
The CSU branch unanimously selected Zehmeister as their mayoral candidate during a recent meeting. He will also top the party’s town council slate, followed by Kathrin Dürschinger in second place and Prof. Dr. Franziska Wespel in third. The full list includes Armin Brückner, Christopher Cran, Jörg Kern, Werner Leberer, Georg Hein, Ute Maurer, Thomas Gsell, Markus Tretter, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Jürgen Palkoska, Frederik Kuka, Horst Rosa, Michael Lutsch, and Porlein in sixteenth position.
The polls will take place on March 8, 2026. Zehmeister’s team, combining experienced members like Porlein with new candidates, will focus on delivering infrastructure and financial stability. The party’s platform centres on continuing development while maintaining budget discipline.
