Cumilla’s Nine-Day Book Fair Opens With 99 Publishers and Cultural Celebrations
A nine-day book fair has opened in Cumilla, drawing readers and publishers from across the region. Organised by the Jatiya Grantha Kendra, the event began on Friday at the Cumilla Town Hall premises. The fair features 99 publishing houses, including local and Dhaka-based firms.
The Cumilla District Book Fair 2025 was officially launched with a ceremony attended by key figures. Md Nazrul Islam, secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, served as the chief guest. Cumilla deputy commissioner Md Reza Hasan presided over the event.
The event provides a platform for book lovers to explore new titles and engage with publishers. With nearly 100 exhibitors, the fair aims to promote reading and cultural exchange. Organisers have scheduled the final day for December 6, wrapping up nine days of literary activities.
