Cyclist Collision in Prenzlauer Berg: 60-Year-Old Hospitalized
Yesterday afternoon, a traffic accident involving two cyclists occurred in Prenzlauer Berg. A 60-year-old cyclist attempted to overtake a 35-year-old cyclist on Prenzlauer Allee around 5:30 PM. The attempt resulted in both cyclists falling and sustaining injuries.
The 60-year-old cyclist suffered an open arm fracture and skin abrasions, requiring immediate medical attention and transportation to a hospital. Meanwhile, the 35-year-old cyclist sustained skin abrasions on her hand and knee but did not require medical attention.
The incident occurred when the 60-year-old cyclist's handlebars touched those of the 35-year-old cyclist while attempting to overtake. The Police Directorate 1 (North) has assigned a specialized traffic crimes unit to investigate the incident.
The cyclists' collision resulted in injuries, with the 60-year-old sustaining a more severe injury. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details about any driver involvement have been reported.
