Mainz (our platform)

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, at around 3:00 PM, dozens of Mainz residents gathered for a bicycle demonstration from Mainz-Gonsenheim to Mainz-Drais. The protest was organized to demand a dedicated bike lane along State Road L427, which participants argue is currently missing between the two districts.

The event featured speeches from Mobility Minister Katrin Eder, Mainz's Transport Councilor Janina Steinkrüger, and Gonsenheim's local district chair Josef Aron before the ride began. Approximately 60 cyclists took part in the demonstration, which was accompanied by police. The protest proceeded peacefully without incident.
