Czech Consul & Mayor's Comical Coat of Arms Mishap
A light-hearted incident occurred in Neugablonz recently, involving the Czech Consul General, Dr. Ivana Červenková, and Kaufbeuren’s mayor, Stefan Bosse. The two were pulling a fabric covering the newly installed coats of arms on Bürgerplatz when an unexpected mishap occurred.
The incident happened during the unveiling of the new coats of arms, which are set to be inaugurated on October 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. The event will also feature light and fire shows throughout the city. The installation of the supporting structure for the coats of arms was completed just prior to this event, in October 2025.
The unveiling took a comedic turn when two steel reinforcing bars supporting the black cloth fell. Fortunately, neither Dr. Červenková nor Mayor Bosse were harmed. Both were wearing black safety helmets, ensuring their safety during the mishap.
Despite the minor incident, the strong Bavarian-Bohemian relations remain unaffected. The upcoming inauguration of the new coats of arms on Bürgerplatz is expected to proceed as planned, with the city of Neugablonz looking forward to the festive event.
