DAM Prize 2026 Finalists: Berlin's Innovative Buildings Lead the Way
The German Architecture Museum (DAM) has revealed the finalists for the prestigious 2026 DAM Prize. Among them are two remarkable buildings from Berlin: the Center for Art and Urbanistics in Moabit and the Dual School on Allee der Kosmonauten. These structures showcase innovative architectural responses to societal changes and new forms of learning and living.
The Dual School campus, designed by PPAG architects, spans nearly 38,000 square meters and can accommodate around 1,600 students. It harmoniously integrates a secondary school and a grammar school, adhering to Berlin's Compartment Model. The building's design reflects its commitment to fostering new learning environments.
Meanwhile, the Center for Art and Urbanistics, crafted by Peter Grundmann Architekten, transformed a former freight depot into a vibrant space for art, urban research, and community engagement. Both finalists exemplify architecture's ability to adapt and evolve with societal needs.
The DAM Prize ceremony will take place on January 30, 2026, at the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt. These Berlin finalists, along with other selected projects, will be celebrated for their innovative contributions to the architectural landscape. The Dual School on Allee der Kosmonauten was designed by winkingrobo architekten.
