Daniel Sigrist takes over the leadership of the Werkdienst
Kerns has appointed Daniel Sigrist as the new Head of Public Works, effective April 1, 2026. The 42-year-old father of two brings years of experience in municipal services and specialised training to the role. He will take over from Thomas Arnold, who leaves the position at the end of January next year.
Sigrist currently serves as head of Kerns’ municipal works and services department. His background includes professional qualifications as an operations and maintenance specialist. Over recent years, he has completed additional courses in leadership, administration, and public works management to prepare for higher responsibilities.
The transition follows Thomas Arnold’s departure on January 31, 2026. Until Sigrist officially begins in April, Kerns Public Works will be managed internally. His appointment marks a promotion within the municipality, where he has already contributed to local infrastructure projects. Sigrist’s training has focused on municipal infrastructure and operational leadership. Though specific courses and institutions remain undisclosed, his expanded expertise aligns with the demands of the new role. The position requires overseeing public services, maintenance, and administrative coordination in Kerns.
Sigrist’s appointment ensures continuity in Kerns’ public works leadership. His prior experience within the municipality and targeted professional development will support the department’s operations. The handover period will bridge the gap between Arnold’s exit and Sigrist’s official start date.
