Davaso rebrands as IQVIA Health System Services after five years under U.S. ownership

Davaso, a German healthcare data specialist, will now operate under a new name. The company has rebranded as IQVIA Health System Services (IQVIA HSS), five years after its acquisition by U.S. data giant IQVIA. The change aligns its external identity with the wider IQVIA Group.

Davaso was originally formed in 2017 through the merger of Inter-Forum and Syntela. Both firms had been acquired earlier by the Brenninkmeijer family. In 2017, private equity firm Montagu took a 90% stake in the newly merged company before selling it to IQVIA in 2021.

The company's core business involves verifying invoices for healthcare services, which generates 62% of its revenue. Disease management programmes contribute another 8%, while prescription audits make up less than 2% of its €112 million annual income. The name Davaso itself stood for Data, Validation, and Software/Solutions.

Under the rebrand, all existing contracts with IQVIA HSS will remain in place. Points of contact, processes, legal frameworks, data protection rules, and security standards will also stay unchanged. The move strengthens IQVIA's presence in Germany's healthcare system, with prescription audits now handled directly under the IQVIA name.

The rebranding marks the end of the Davaso name, consolidating its operations under IQVIA's global brand. Clients and partners will see no disruption to services, as all agreements and procedures remain the same. The shift reflects IQVIA's long-term strategy to unify its healthcare data services in Germany.
