Daylight robbery in Duisburg leaves police searching for cyclist thief
A woman was robbed in broad daylight while walking in Duisburg. The suspect snatched her handbag from behind before fleeing on a bicycle. Police are now searching for witnesses to help identify the perpetrator. The incident took place near Steinsche Gasse, as the victim walked along Wallstraße toward Friedrich-Wilhelm-Straße. The attacker, described as around 1.70 metres tall with a slim build, approached silently and grabbed the bag. He then escaped on a black bicycle with wide tyres.
The suspect was dressed entirely in black, making identification difficult. Criminal Investigation Division 13 has taken charge of the case. Authorities have found no records of similar thefts involving the same description or method in Duisburg or nearby areas over the past year. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Even small details could assist in tracking down the perpetrator.
The investigation remains ongoing, with officers reviewing possible leads. Witnesses who saw a man on a black bicycle near Steinsche Gasse are encouraged to contact the police. The victim's stolen property has not yet been recovered.
