Fatal Accident at ICC - Scooter Hit by Truck - Deadly crash in Berlin leaves e-scooter rider fatally struck by truck
A fatal collision occurred on Thursday afternoon in Berlin’s Westend district. A ram rider was struck and killed by a truck at the corner of Halenseestraße and Messedamm. The crash took place around 3:50 PM, leaving the woman dead at the scene despite immediate rescue efforts.
Initial reports indicate the woman lost control of her electric scooter while attempting to turn right onto Messedamm. At the same time, the truck also moved to make a right turn, leading to the collision. Witnesses and emergency services rushed to help but could not revive her.
The truck driver was taken to hospital suffering from shock. Police secured evidence from the site to clarify the exact circumstances of the crash. The area remained closed for hours, causing traffic delays and disrupting access to nearby highways. Authorities have not released the truck driver’s name, stating that further details are still under investigation.
The accident has left one person dead and another hospitalised. Traffic disruptions lasted into the evening as police examined the scene. Investigations into the crash’s precise cause are ongoing.
