Debunked: Viral video falsely claims election fraud in Bihar’s 2025 polls
A viral video has spread false claims about election results in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections. The footage allegedly shows Aaj Tak anchor Sweta Singh reporting on duplicate EVMs with preset results. However, the video has been digitally altered to include misleading audio.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured a clear victory in the elections, winning 202 out of 243 seats.
The doctored video suggests that two EVMs with identical serial numbers were used—one at polling booths and another stored in a strong room. It also claims that the EVM used by voters was never opened, and a pre-loaded machine was used during counting. No credible evidence supports these allegations.
The original footage of Sweta Singh’s report only covers the NDA’s landslide win. There is no mention of election results manipulation or irregularities in her broadcast. Fact-checkers have confirmed that the audio claiming fraud was artificially inserted into the video.
Despite the false claims, the election results remain unchanged. The NDA’s victory was widely reported, and no official complaints or investigations into EVM tampering have been verified.
The viral video has been debunked as manipulated content. The original report by Sweta Singh focused solely on the NDA’s election success. Without reliable sources or evidence, the claims of election results fraud remain unsubstantiated.
