Debunked: Viral video falsely ties child voter to Bihar’s 2025 election landslide
A misleading video has spread online claiming to show a child casting a vote for the BJP in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections. The footage actually dates back to May 2024 and was recorded in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Fact-checkers have confirmed the video has no connection to the recent Bihar polls, where the NDA secured a landslide victory with 202 out of 243 seats.
The video in question shows a minor voting under the supervision of a Zila Panchayat member named Vinay Mehar. The incident took place during the 2024 Bhopal Zila Panchayat elections, not the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections. Authorities took swift action at the time, filing an FIR against Mehar and suspending the entire polling team for negligence.
The claim that a minor voted in the 2025 Bihar elections has been debunked. The video predates the polls and stems from an unrelated incident in Bhopal. Meanwhile, the NDA’s victory in Bihar stands as the official result, with no evidence of underage voting affecting the outcome.
