These are the trees with branches and leaves. This looks like a banner, which is hanging. I think this is a current pole. These are the buildings. This looks like a gate. Here is the grass. I can see a person walking on the road. I can see two people, among them one person is riding rickshaw and the other one is riding a motorbike.

Decades-old Modi-Advani photo sparks Congress debate on BJP’s leadership model

A decades-old photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with veteran BJP leader LK Advani has resurfaced, shared by Congress leader Digvijaya Singh. The image, described as 'impactful,' highlights Modi’s early days as a party worker before his rise to national leadership. Singh’s post has sparked discussions about the organisational strength of the BJP and its ideological parent, the RSS.

Digvijaya Singh posted the photo on social media, showing a young Modi alongside Advani. He credited the RSS for its disciplined structure, calling it the backbone of Modi’s political journey. The Congress leader acknowledged how the organisation’s systematic approach had shaped the Prime Minister’s career.

Shashi Tharoor, another senior Congress MP, supported Singh’s remarks. He stressed the importance of discipline within political parties, noting that the BJP’s organisational rigour had contributed to its success. Tharoor implied that the Congress could learn from this model.

The photograph itself dates back to Modi’s early years in the BJP, long before he became a national figure. Singh’s comments focused on the RSS’s role in nurturing leaders, though no details emerged about his own past mentors within the Sangh or its predecessor, the Jana Sangh.

The image and Singh’s observations have drawn attention to the BJP’s structured approach to leadership development. Tharoor’s agreement suggests a broader conversation within the Congress about adopting similar strategies. The exchange underscores the ongoing debate over organisational discipline in Indian politics.
