Decomposed body of missing timber trader recovered in Gazipur
A timber trader who vanished from his home in Sreepur, Gazipur, has been found dead near a local river. Asaduzzaman Sarker Asad, last seen on September 23, was discovered in a partially decomposed state on Friday. His family had reported him missing two days after his disappearance.
Asaduzzaman Sarker Asad, a 55-year-old timber merchant, went missing on September 23 around 10 am from his residence in Sreepur. When he failed to return, his family launched a search and filed a general diary with Sreepur police on September 25.
The body was recovered in an abandoned tin house beneath the old bridge over the Paruli River, along the Kapasia-Rajendrapur road. His son, Jony Sarker, and daughter, Sanjida Akter, later identified him by his clothing.
The discovery brings an end to the search for Asaduzzaman Sarker Asad, who had been missing for two days before his body was found. Police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
