**Granite Corporation and Obayashi Corporation Secure $158 Million Task Order for Defense System Project in Guam**

Granite Corporation (NYSE: GVA) and Obayashi Corporation have been awarded a significant task order worth $158 million for a defense system project located in Guam. The project, which is not part of any ongoing or previous contract, is being funded by the federal government through the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) under the Facilities and Infrastructure Multiple Award Construction Contract (F&I MACC).

The project, spanning approximately 120 acres of a former military housing area, is situated just south of Granite's ongoing work at Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz. The scope of the project is extensive, involving various aspects of infrastructure development, rebar and water storage, building construction, and autonomous power generation to support future missile defense infrastructure.

Infrastructure Development: The project includes 60,000 linear feet of underground ductbank, 110,000 cubic yards of mass earthwork, 11,000 linear feet of water main, and 7,400 cubic yards of structural concrete.

Rebar and Water Storage: The project requires 1.3 million pounds of rebar and a 220,000-gallon steel water tank.

Buildings: The project involves the construction of a Fire Pump Building and a Security Forces Office Building.

Autonomous Power Generation: To support future missile defense infrastructure, the project includes the installation of autonomous power generation systems.

The timeline for construction is set to begin in late July 2025 and is expected to be completed by July 2028. This project aligns with Granite's commitment to supporting large-scale construction projects, particularly those contributing to national defense infrastructure.

The joint venture between Granite Corporation and Obayashi Corporation will oversee the project, working closely with NAVFAC to ensure the successful completion of the defense system project in Guam. This task order marks another significant milestone in the collaboration between the two companies.

The joint venture between Granite Corporation and Obayashi Corporation, operating in the industry of construction, will handle the defense system project in Guam, funded by the finance branch of the federal government. The extensive project, which includes infrastructure development, rebar and water storage, building construction, and autonomous power generation, represents a significant expansion in the aerospace sector.
