Delhi University debunks fake notice linking marks to PM Modi’s Austin rally
Delhi University of Technology (DUU) has swiftly addressed a false notice circulating among students. The notice claimed students would receive 50 marks for attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Austin, Texas on November 9. DUU has clarified that the notice lacked official letterhead, reference number, or signature from any authority.
The Registrar of DUU issued a statement distancing the institution from the fabrication. The university administration officially debunked the notice, calling it 'fake and misleading'. DUU moved to clear the air before PM Modi's visit to the University of Florida, rejecting the unverified claims. The notice bore an alleged DDU letterhead and was shared widely on social media.
Congress spokesperson Garima Mahara Dasouni accused DUU of coercing students to attend the PM's rally in Florida. However, the university clarified that no such coercion took place. DUU appealed to students and guardians to ignore the fraudulent information.
DUU has taken steps to rectify the misinformation. The university has confirmed that no such notice was issued and no marks will be awarded for attending the PM's rally at UFL. Students and guardians are advised to disregard the false notice.
