Der Spiegel Moves to Sustainable John F. Kennedy House in Berlin
Der Spiegel, Germany's leading news magazine, has secured a long-term lease for approximately 2,000 square meters of office space in the prestigious John F. Kennedy House in Berlin. The move, set for spring 2026, will see the magazine's Berlin bureau relocate from its current home at Washingtonplatz to the Europacity district.
The John F. Kennedy House, completed in 2015, is a sustainable masterpiece designed by architecture firm Auer Weber. It boasts a DGNB Platinum certification, reflecting its commitment to environmental responsibility. Der Spiegel's new home will span about 2,000 square meters, providing ample space for the magazine's operations.
The legal aspects of the relocation were expertly handled by Taylor Wessing. Alexander Peinze and Nikolaus Vaerst led the transaction, ensuring a smooth process for Spiegel-Verlag Rudolf Augstein GmbH & Co. KG. While the advisor to CA Immo during the leasing process remains unknown, the deal was successfully concluded with Spiegel-Verlag signing the lease.
