Rail Financial Director Must Go After Just Three Months, Says Report - Deutsche Bahn's finance chief exits after just three turbulent months

Deutsche Bahn is removing its finance chief, Karin Dohm, after just three months in the job. The reasons for her sudden exit remain unclear, but tensions with colleagues and stakeholders played a key role.

Dohm took over as Deutsche Bahn's CFO in early December 2023. She arrived with a strong financial background, having previously served as finance chief at DIY retailer Hornbach and briefly at Conti Automotive. Despite her experience, her time at Deutsche Bahn was marked by repeated clashes with executives over minor issues.

Her short tenure also saw friction with politicians, employee representatives, and the works council. These disputes escalated to the point where CEO Evelyn Palla reportedly stepped in to resolve them. The company's supervisory board is now expected to formalise Dohm's departure at a meeting in March.

Dohm's exit comes after a brief but turbulent period at the company. The supervisory board will confirm the decision in the coming weeks. Her departure leaves Deutsche Bahn searching for a new finance chief.
