Diebrock clay extraction plan opens for public review in 2026

Stork Tongruben- und Transportunternehmen GmbH has submitted an application to extract clay in Diebrock, Herford. The project now enters a public consultation phase, with planning documents available for review from late February to late March 2026.

The proposed clay extraction will undergo an environmental impact assessment, requiring public involvement. Residents and interested parties can examine the planning documents between 27 February 2026 and 27 March 2026.

The materials will be accessible at two locations: the **Herford District Administration Office** and the **Herford City Technical Town Hall**. Both sites operate Monday to Friday, though opening times differ. For those unable to visit in person, the documents will also be available online via the **North Rhine-Westphalia Environmental Impact Assessment Portal**. Anyone wishing to raise concerns has one month after the display period ends to submit objections. These can be made in writing or presented directly to the relevant authorities.

The public inspection period runs for one month, closing on 27 March 2026. After this, objections must be filed within the following 30 days. The process ensures community input is considered before any final decision on the clay extraction project.
