Diehl Aviation Expands Presence in Querétaro, Mexico

German aeronautical manufacturer Diehl Aviation has inaugurated a new plant in Querétaro, Mexico, marking a significant expansion in the company's global operations. The plant, built with an investment of 918 million pesos (US $50 million), adds to the over 250 German companies operating in the state.

Located in the PYME Industrial Park outside Querétaro, capital of the central state of the same name, the plant includes 8,200 square meters of production and office space. Production at the plant is expected to begin shortly after its inauguration. Currently, 20 employees are working at the newly inaugurated plant, with plans to grow the workforce to 500 people in the medium term.

Diehl Aviation's CEO Jorg Schuler stated that the company is not just opening a new location, but writing the first lines of a new chapter in the history of aviation in Querétaro. The company's establishment in Querétaro is in response to the state's status as a leading aerospace hub in Mexico.

The company focuses on the production of supply systems, lavatories, overhead compartments, and intelligent solutions for aircraft interiors. Diehl Aviation offers products such as extra-large trunks, oxygen systems, mechanical lifting systems, and digitalized elements designed to improve efficiency, safety, and comfort in aircrafts.

Diehl Aviation's expansion in Querétaro is aimed at expanding its global future and strengthening its presence in the United States. The company cites advantages such as time-zone alignment with final assembly lines in Brazil, Canada, and the United States, reduced transportation times, and a stronger local supply chain.

The report is based on reports from Cluster Industrial and Tribuna Económica. Besides Diehl Aviation, the German company Enikon Aerospace is also active in the aerospace industry in Querétaro, Mexico, with plans to expand their presence there.

The company's clients include Boeing, Airbus, and Bombardier, further solidifying Querétaro's relevance in the aerospace industry. Diehl Aviation's decision to establish in Querétaro adds to the growing number of international companies choosing to invest in the region.

A second phase of expansion is planned, which will add 4,000 to 6,000 square meters to the plant. As Diehl Aviation continues to grow and expand, it is poised to make a significant impact on the aerospace industry in Querétaro and beyond.
