Diphu Diocese women's convention emphasizes family unity for community peace

Diphu Diocese women's convention emphasizes family unity for community peace

The 9th annual convention of the Diphu Diocese A'chik Catholic Women's Association (DDACWA) took place from March 13 to 15. Delegates from Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, and Dima Hasao districts attended the event at Dokmoka Parish in Karbi Anglong. The gathering concluded with a Mass led by Bishop Paul Mattekat on the final day.

The three-day convention brought together women from across the diocese. Bishop Mattekat, the chief guest, addressed the delegates during the closing ceremony. He stressed that family harmony must come first before peace can spread to the wider community.

On the last day, Bishop Mattekat celebrated Mass for the hundreds of participants. He was joined by Fr Abraham Kanattu and Fr Albert Thyrniang, the parish priests of Sojong. His sermon focused on the need for love and unity within families as the foundation for a peaceful society.

The event ended smoothly on March 15 after days of discussions and prayers. Bishop Mattekat's message highlighted the role of family stability in fostering broader community peace. The convention marked another year of collaboration among Catholic women in the diocese.
