Youth Hostels Offer Students Discounted Rooms - DJH Offers Long-Stay Rooms to First-Semester Students in Germany
The Deutsche Jugendherberge (DJH) is stepping in to help first-semester students in Germany facing housing shortages. Around 30 of its 400 youth hostels, mainly in university cities, are offering 'Long-Stay' accommodation as a temporary solution. The DJH, which includes hostels in cities like Münster, Bochum, and Bremen, is providing single or double rooms at discounted rates. The cost varies based on the length of stay, location, and room type. Students can book these rooms for several weeks or even months while they search for more permanent accommodation. To access this offer, students must be members of the German Youth Hostel Association. The DJH hopes this initiative will help alleviate the housing crisis affecting many first-year students in university cities. The DJH's 'Long-Stay' offer is a lifeline for first-semester students struggling to find accommodation. With around 30 hostels participating, students have a chance to secure affordable, longer-term stays while they navigate the housing market.
