Doğan becomes deputy editor-in-chief at "The Pioneer"
The Pioneer has named Alev Doğan as its new deputy editor-in-chief. The 34-year-old has worked at the outlet since 2020, most recently as chief reporter. Her promotion follows the departure of two senior editors.
Doğan began her journalism career at Kieler Nachrichten before moving to Rheinische Post as a political reporter. She later joined The Pioneer, where she took on the role of chief reporter in 2020.
Her work has included hosting podcasts and organising events, often exploring themes of inspiration. The publication has now chosen her to fill a key leadership position, opting for internal talent over external hires.
The decision comes after Michael Bröcker and Gordon Repinski left their editorial roles. Doğan will maintain her focus on inspirational content, building on her previous projects like The Eighth Day podcast.
As deputy editor-in-chief, Doğan will help shape The Pioneer’s editorial direction. She brings experience in political reporting, podcasting, and event management to the role. The move signals the outlet’s confidence in its existing team.
