Domino's Pizza finally arrives in Guernsey with late-night takeaway plans

Domino's Pizza is set to open its first branch in Guernsey after receiving planning approval last year. The new takeaway will be located inside the Coop's Longstore Locale store. This marks the company's first venture into the Channel Islands, despite already operating two outlets in Jersey since 2017.

The global pizza chain, which began in Michigan in 1960, has been expanding steadily. It entered the UK market in 1985 and later reached Jersey in 2017. However, until now, no Domino's outlets have existed in Guernsey or the wider Channel Islands.

The new 1,800-square-foot restaurant will operate from 11:00 to 23:15 Sunday to Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, it will stay open until 01:30. Two management roles—a Store Manager and a Shift Manager—are currently available, with hourly wages of up to £23 and £21 respectively. Plans for the site were approved last year, allowing the change of use for the Coop location. The company is now actively recruiting staff ahead of the launch.

Once open, the new Domino's will become the only branch in Guernsey. The extended weekend hours and central location aim to serve late-night customers. The hiring of local managers signals the final steps before the takeaway begins trading.
