Don Dabbert nominated for NAHB's 2027 Third Vice Chairman after decades in housing leadership

Don Dabbert, founder of Dabbert Custom Homes, has been named the 2027 Third Vice Chairman candidate by the NAHB Nominations Committee. His long career in home-building and property management spans over three decades, with deep roots in North Dakota's construction industry. The announcement follows years of leadership in both local and national housing associations.

Dabbert began his career in 1992 with Contemporary Builders before establishing Dabbert Custom Homes in 2010. Since then, the company has built more than 60 single-family homes each year. In 2025, the firm was recognised as a Builder of Excellence for the Red River Valley.

Beyond home-building, Dabbert owns DCH Property Management, which oversees over 200 residential and commercial properties. His development projects include neighbourhoods like Hampton Place, Rivers Edge, and Cub Creek, alongside various commercial ventures. Active in the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for over 20 years, Dabbert has served as North Dakota's State Representative and held multiple roles within the organisation. He is also a member of the Building Industry Association of the Red River Valley. In June 2027, he will address the NAHB Leadership Council in Washington, D.C. Originally from Aberdeen, South Dakota, Dabbert moved to Fargo, North Dakota, in 1985. His career and community involvement have firmly established him as a key figure in the region's housing sector.

The nomination for Third Vice Chairman marks another milestone in Dabbert's extensive career. His work in construction, property management, and industry leadership continues to shape housing development in North Dakota. The role will further expand his influence within the NAHB when he speaks at the 2027 Leadership Council.
