Dona Ganguly files police complaint over abusive Facebook posts
Dona Ganguly, wife of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, has filed a police complaint over abusive comments targeting her on Facebook. The posts, which she describes as defamatory and humiliating, prompted an FIR against unknown individuals under Section 79 of the BNS.
The complaint was lodged at Thakurpukur police station after Dona Ganguly provided screenshots of the offensive posts. She also shared a mobile number linked to the Facebook page responsible. Authorities have yet to disclose the name of the profile or page involved.
The case is now under investigation, with police focusing on tracing the individual behind the abusive posts. If found guilty, the accused could face legal consequences under the BNS for online harassment and defamation.
