Dormagen honors 310 couples for decades-long marriage milestones this year
Over 310 couples in Dormagen will mark major wedding anniversary milestones in the coming year. Among them, 147 will celebrate 50 years of marriage, while seven will reach the rare 70-year union milestone. The city has begun preparations to honour these long-standing marriages with personal visits from officials.
The city registry office identified the couples using local marriage records. While most ceremonies took place in Dormagen, couples who wed elsewhere can still request a visit from the mayor or a deputy. Manuela Grunewald, from the Department of Citizen and Council Affairs, oversees these arrangements and can be contacted at +49 2133 257 3033.
The city will recognise these milestones with official visits, depending on each couple’s preference. The celebrations highlight decades of commitment, with the mayor or deputies personally acknowledging the longest marriages. For those wishing to participate, Manuela Grunewald remains the key contact for coordination.
