Dortmund restaurant owner found dead in violent homicide case
On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the body of a 49-year-old man was discovered in the Oriental Gourmet restaurant on Lindenhorster Straße 163a in Dortmund by a witness. Investigators have identified the victim as the restaurant's owner.
A subsequent autopsy confirmed that the death was violent. A homicide task force has since been established to lead the investigation.
The Dortmund Public Prosecutor's Office and Dortmund Police are now appealing for witnesses.
Anyone who was a guest at the Oriental Gourmet restaurant in Dortmund on March 31, 2026, and/or at the Merkur arcade hall across the street on March 31 or April 1, 2026, as well as any other potential witnesses, is urged to contact the criminal investigation unit of Dortmund Police.
