Dr. Thomas Haslinger wins Landshut mayoral race with 52.5% majority
Dr. Thomas Haslinger has won the Landshut mayoral election with a clear majority. The CSU/JU candidate secured 52.5% of the vote, defeating his opponent Christoph Rabl. His six-year term as mayor will officially begin on May 1, 2026. The final runoff results were confirmed by the electoral committee on Monday afternoon. Haslinger received 12,552 votes, while Rabl garnered 11,361 votes, accounting for 47.5% of the total.
Until Haslinger takes office, Alexander Putz will remain in charge of the city administration. His term as interim head will continue until the handover on May 1, 2026.
