Dreieich’s Günter Gericke awarded Germany’s Federal Cross of Merit for lifelong service
Dr. Günter Gericke of Dreieich has received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon, one of Germany’s highest honours. The award recognises his decades of public service, both locally and at the district level. District Administrator Oliver Quilling presented the decoration during a ceremony at Dreieich’s town hall on Monday.
Gericke’s political career began in 1996 when he joined Dreieich’s city council. Since then, he has contributed to committees on the environment, energy, transport, planning, and auditing. His work extended to the district level in 2001, where he has remained active ever since.
The award ceremony took place in front of local officials, party colleagues, and community members. Gericke’s contributions span environmental policy, economic oversight, and social programmes. His work continues to influence both Dreieich and the wider Offenbach district.
