Driver caught with blood alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit
A 41-year-old driver was stopped by police in Peine early Saturday after officers detected alcohol on his breath. The incident occurred at around 2:40 a.m. on Wiesenstraße, where the man was driving a small delivery van under suspicion of intoxication.
Police pulled over the vehicle after noticing the strong smell of alcohol coming from the driver. A breathalyzer test at the scene revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 1.79 per mille—far above the legal limit. Authorities immediately prohibited him from continuing his journey, citing a clear risk to road safety.
The driver now faces legal consequences after being caught well over the drink-driving limit. The case will proceed through the courts, with the blood test results serving as key evidence in the investigation.
