Driver crashes into pillar after suspected drug use on B31 highway
A serious traffic accident took place on the B31 near Breitnau on Saturday evening. The crash involved a 31-year-old driver who lost control of the vehicle while travelling toward Freiburg. Authorities suspect drugs and excessive speed played a role in the incident.
The accident occurred in the Löffeltal curve, where the car veered off the road and struck a concrete pillar. The driver suffered severe injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment. A preliminary drug test later confirmed the presence of narcotics in their system.
The incident remains under investigation, with drug impairment and speeding as key factors. The driver’s condition in hospital has not been updated. Police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
