Drug raids and street brawl erupt in Cologne and Berlin overnight
A tense situation unfolded in Cologne and Berlin last night, involving drug-related arrests and a street brawl. Pepper spray was used during the clash in Berlin, with around 20 to 30 people involved.
In Cologne, police raided a kiosk in the Südstadt district, allegedly about as a drug shop. Two 22-year-old suspects were arrested for selling heroin and cocaine. Six more suspects, aged 16 to 22, were taken into custody after a search of the area. All individuals had dispersed by the time emergency responders arrived.
In Berlin, a physical altercation involving around 20 to 30 people took place at approximately 8:00 PM on the sidewalk at the intersection of Sonnenallee and Hobrechtstraße. Two 19-year-old suspects were detained. Pepper spray was used during the clash. Investigations into the cause of the altercation are ongoing.
All suspects in both incidents were released after their identities were verified. Authorities continue to investigate the causes and any potential connections between the events.
