Drunk and drugged driver causes two crashes in Lippstadt before arrest
A 26-year-old man from Geseke was arrested on Thursday evening, December 10, 2025, after causing two accidents while driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The incident occurred near the Konrad-Adenauer-Ring electronics store in Lippstadt, where police intervened following reports of erratic driving.
The series of events began when the man, driving along County Road 27 towards Sundhausen, first collided with a guardrail on Sundhäuser Straße. Instead of stopping, he continued and later veered off the road between Uthleben and Sundhausen, ending up in a roadside ditch. His vehicle had to be towed by police.
A breathalyzer test at the scene revealed a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 0.20%. Officers then took him to a hospital, where a blood sample was drawn to confirm the exact level of intoxication. Authorities also determined he had been under the influence of drugs. This incident follows a separate case the previous day, where a 40-year-old man was caught driving drunk in Uthleben on Wednesday evening. In the December 10 arrest, the 26-year-old’s driver’s licence was immediately confiscated.
The man now faces legal consequences for driving while intoxicated and causing multiple accidents. His licence remains suspended, and further charges may follow once the blood test results are processed.
