Drunk attacker leaves man with life-threatening injuries in Berlin supermarket assault
A violent attack in Berlin’s Altglienicke district left one man with severe injuries after a drunk assailant assaulted him in broad daylight. The incident unfolded around 1 p.m. in a supermarket car park, prompting bystanders to call the police and leading to an arrest.
The altercation began when a heavily intoxicated 41-year-old man struck a 42-year-old victim in the face. The force of the blow knocked the man to the ground, where the attacker then repeatedly kicked him in the head. The victim suffered serious head injuries and internal trauma, requiring an emergency airlift to hospital for intensive care.
The 42-year-old victim remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. The suspect, now in custody, faces charges related to the violent assault. Investigators continue to gather evidence as part of the ongoing inquiry.
