Drunk Berlin man pulls gun on pizza delivery driver in shocking confrontation
A drunk man in Berlin-Hellersdorf threatened a pizza delivery driver with a gun on Saturday evening. The incident led to a police operation involving a tactical unit. Officers later seized a loaded firearm and ammunition from the suspect's apartment.
The confrontation took place at an apartment building on Forster Straße. A 42-year-old delivery driver arrived to drop off an order when a 49-year-old resident pointed a gun at him. The driver immediately fled the scene and contacted the police.
Officers arrived quickly and deployed the SEK (special tactical unit) to secure the area. After searching the apartment, they found a loaded weapon and additional rounds. The suspect was taken into custody, but his blood alcohol level measured nearly 2.2 per mille—a stage where severe intoxication causes memory loss and confusion. Despite the arrest, the man's motives for threatening the driver remain unclear. Police recorded his details before releasing him later that night.
The suspect was released without charges after his information was logged. Authorities confiscated the firearm and ammunition as part of the investigation. No official statistics on similar incidents in Berlin over the past year are currently available.
