Drunk man's aggressive rampage on Nuremberg tram leads to arrest
A 45-year-old man caused disruption in Nuremberg on Monday after being found heavily intoxicated. His aggressive behaviour on a tram and attempts to block traffic led to his arrest by police. The incident began when the man boarded a tram while visibly drunk. The driver ordered him to leave, but he responded with aggression. Shortly after, he staggered into the roadway, disrupting traffic.
Police intervened and conducted a breathalyzer test, which showed a blood alcohol level of 0.20%. Officers arrested him on the spot. Authorities later revealed that criminal police are also investigating him for suspected sexual harassment. Prosecutors have since filed for pretrial detention. The man will now appear before an investigating judge to determine next steps.
The suspect remains in custody while investigations continue. His blood alcohol level and alleged behaviour have led to serious legal consequences. Authorities will assess whether he poses a risk if released before trial.
