Drunk teen crashes car, then assaults officer at nearby hospital

Officers arriving at the scene noticed the smell of alcohol on the driver. She was taken to a hospital near her for minor nasal injuries sustained in the collision. While at the hospital, the woman became increasingly agitated. She kicked a 21-year-old police officer, striking him in the arm. The officer suffered no injuries and resumed his duties shortly after. A blood test was ordered following the incident. Authorities have not released the driver’s name but confirmed she now faces criminal charges. These include driving under the influence and assaulting a police officer. The woman remains under investigation for both the traffic offence and the assault.
