DuMont Media Group names new Chief Content Officer Digital to spearhead video-first newsroom
DuMont Media Group is shaking up its digital strategy. From December 1, the group will introduce a new role, Chief Content Officer Digital, to lead the development of a modern, centralized digital newsroom with a focus on video content. Peter Seiffert, a digital specialist from RTL, will take on this new position and also serve as deputy editor-in-chief.
The appointment follows the departure of Christian Spolders, who has worked for DuMont Media Group for over nine years. He started as senior news/digital editor at Express and later headed Express.de and ksta.de. Spolders was shortlisted for the kress Awards last year for his pioneering use of AI in editorial purposes. Seiffert will take over from Spolders, who will leave the company by the end of November.
Seiffert brings a wealth of digital experience from RTL. In his new role, he will focus on creating a modern, centralized digital newsroom that emphasizes video content. This move signals DuMont Media Group's commitment to evolving with the digital landscape.
Peter Seiffert's appointment as Chief Content Officer Digital and deputy editor-in-chief marks a significant step in DuMont Media Group's digital transformation. His expertise will drive the development of a cutting-edge digital newsroom, with a particular focus on video content. The group looks forward to the innovative changes Seiffert will bring, following the departure of Christian Spolders.
