Düren's Fire Department held its annual general meeting on March 9
The meeting highlighted the department's growing demands in 2025. Firefighters responded to 1,417 incidents, marking a 10% rise compared to the previous year. Emergency medical services alone handled over 20,000 calls, underscoring the team's critical role in the community.

Looking ahead, the department's priorities include strategic emergency planning, preventive fire protection, and modernising equipment. A new fire station is also planned to improve response times and operational efficiency. The approved Fire Protection Needs Plan for 2026–2030 will guide these efforts, ensuring the service remains prepared for future challenges.
The annual meeting reinforced the fire department's commitment to public safety and community involvement. With rising callouts and ongoing modernisation, the service continues to expand its capabilities. The new fire station and updated equipment will further strengthen emergency response in Düren over the next five years.
