Düsseldorf’s Candlelit Vigil Unites Activists in Call for Global Peace
A candlelit vigil for peace took place in Düsseldorf on Monday evening. Around 100 people gathered near the state parliament, each holding a candle to call for an end to conflicts worldwide.
The event was organized by the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) and the local Protestant Church. It had been planned before the recent U.S. peace proposals were announced. Participants focused on opposing all wars, with particular attention on the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
The peaceful demonstration brought together community members and activists in a quiet but visible show of solidarity. Their message highlighted the need for continued efforts to resolve conflicts without violence.
