Early morning fire erupts in Neukölln apartment building
A fire broke out in a top-floor apartment on Hertzbergstraße in Neukölln early this morning. Emergency crews arrived just after 6 a.m., with police and firefighters responding quickly to the scene. Authorities have since closed part of the street while investigations continue.
The blaze began in an apartment on the upper floor of a residential building. A 58-year-old tenant was alerted and immediately warned neighbours to evacuate. No injuries were reported, though the area between Richardplatz and Böhmische Straße remained cordoned off during the operation.
The incident caused no physical harm, but the building's residents were temporarily displaced. The suspect is in police custody while forensic teams assess the scene. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
