East Bay Honors Veterans With Ceremonies, Free Park Access and a Beacon of Light
Today, November 11, marks Veterans Day. The East Bay region, particularly the 925 area, is honouring veterans with various events and tributes. Dublin Senior Center kicks off the day with a Continental Breakfast, while several cities light up the 'Moment of Mount Diablo'.
In Danville/San Ramon Valley, a Veterans Memorial Building Open House and Museum is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, featuring a ceremony at 11:00 am in the Main Hall. Meanwhile, Walnut Creek hosts an Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Lesher Center from 11:00 am to noon, accompanied by music from the Walnut Creek Concert Band.
Brentwood also pays tribute with a City of Brentwood Veterans Day Ceremony at Brentwood Veterans Park at 10:30 am. Additionally, the East Bay Regional Park District offers free entrance and parking for veterans on this day. As sunset approaches, Mount Diablo's 'Eye' Beacon will be lit to honour veterans.
Veterans Day events are taking place across the 925 area, providing opportunities for the community to show their appreciation and respect for veterans. The day concludes with a symbolic beacon of light on Mount Diablo.
