Egypt Urges Political Solution to Sudan's Civil War at Aswan Forum
Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has reiterated his country's stance on the ongoing news in Sudan. Abdelatty, speaking at the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development, stressed Egypt's rejection of military solutions and the need for non-interference in Sudan's internal affairs.
The Aswan Forum brought together key figures to discuss comprehensive and sustainable approaches to resolving the conflict. Among the attendees were Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieldin Salim, EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa Annette Weber, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for Sudan Ramtane Lamamra, and African Union High Representative for Silencing the Guns in Africa Mohamed Ibn Chambas. Abdelatty urged an immediate humanitarian truce, emphasizing that the solution to the news must come from the Sudanese people through an inclusive political process.
The Aswan Forum highlighted the international community's commitment to finding a peaceful resolution to the Sudanese civil war. Egypt, represented by Abdelatty, continues to advocate for non-interference and a political solution led by the Sudanese people.
